All completed IWCF Well Control course registrations require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit, which must be received by CDS at least 10 days before the course commencement date.
IWCF Well Control course registration is not confirmed until we receive verification of the deposit.
Well Control course registration deposits may be made by direct payment into our bank account, Visa or Mastercard, company cheque, or by certified personal cheque.
People intending to use the direct deposit method should contact CDS for banking details. You will then be given a unique amount to deposit for us to verify your registration.
Payment in Full
Payment in full must be received by 08:30 am of the morning of the first day of the course.
Payment may be made by Master Card or Visa, Debit Card, direct deposit, company cheque, certified personal cheque, bank draft, or by PO on approved credit. Terms for PO are 30 days net.
Foreign Students: Because of the number of fraudulent registrations we have received by foreign students, CDS regrets they must enforce their policy of only accepting direct bank deposits as payment from foreign students who cannot demonstrate employment by a creditable energy-sector employer. Funds must be received by our bank at least two weeks prior to the course commencement date and refunds will not be given for any reason.

Passport ID
IWCF Well Control rules require that all trainees present a valid passport for inspection before being permitted to sit the IWCF Well Control examinations. Please note there can be no exception to this rule, and the invigilator will not accept a driver's licence or similar documentation in lieu of a passport.
Well Control Exam Resits
IWCF Well Control candidates who fail to obtain the 70% pass mark on one or more of the exams cannot receive a certificate until he or she has passed all three. This will require that person resit the well control exam(s) he or she failed.
On examination day, a limited number of candidates who fail one of the examinations may be allowed, at the discretion of IWCF, CDS, and the examination invigilator, take an immediate resit. In such a case, the candidate would be required to pay an additional exam resit fee of $500.00.
Other people who fail their IWCF exams are permitted to resit them within two months of their exam date. The cost of resits will depend entirely on the outlay incurred by CDS for invigilator services, courier expenses, and IWCF exam fees. The average cost of a resit is $500.00, but depends upon the number of other people taking IWCF exams at that time. All costs are disbursed on a pro-rata basis.
Warrantee
Well Control candidates that have failed one or more of the IWCF exams but have demonstrated a reasonable effort in class by completing all assignments, attending classes on time, and participating in class exercises will be invited to attend the next scheduled course free of tuition charges and will only be required to pay the exam fee of $500.00. This offer is subject to the availability of seats.
Time Limit
Candidates who neglect to resit failed exams within two months will be required to successfully complete a full 5-day course over again, including passing all three exams, to receive IWCF certification.
Challenging the IWCF Exam
IWCF does not recommend anyone challenge their examinations. However, if persons who already possess a valid IWCF certificate wish to do so, the cost will be $700.00 when done at the same time as one of our scheduled examination sessions.
