Canadian Drilling School is developing a number of e-learning courses for the drilling industry. Simply navigate to the e-learning page and login to view the courses available for purchase, or choose from the free sample lessons.
Rotary Drilling Well Control
The first course we are developing is designed to help prepare rig personnel for sitting the IWCF and WellCAP examinations at Supervisory Level. They will complement, but not replace the classroom instruction. Thesef lessons are intended to be completed in about 15 to 20 minutes each. When a candidate has successfully completed all the lessons in the course, he or she will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion, which will prove readiness to register in a five-day in-class course.
Subscriptions may be purchased for as little as $2.00 per lesson. This will allow the trainee repeat the purchased lesson and associated learning exercises as many times as they wish within the 30-day subscription period, but the unit test can only be attempted two times. The last result is the mark that contributes to the final mark.
This course is suitable for drilling personnel with who have a minimum of five years’ experience and wish to prepare themselves for a supervisory position. Other people who would also benefit are Drilling Engineers, Wellsite Geologists, Mud Engineers, Mud Loggers, and Drilling Foremen wishing to brush up on their knowledge before enrolling in a formal classroom setting.
People who register in a five-day IWCF course with CDS will receive a subscription to these lessons free of charge.
Employee Evaluations
Canadian Drilling School is developing a comprehensive series of drilling-related tests designed to identify the knowledge gaps in prospective and existing employees. The tests can also be designed to identify personality characteristics that would make the person suitable for a particular type of job.
These tests would be useful for recognizing the areas your employees need training or the suitability of job applicants.
